Weekend Update with MommiesRun.

Happy Monday friends!  I am so excited to be linking up with my new sisterfriend and flockmate, Tara from Running N Reading!

I am desperate to get back into some sort of blogging schedule, and linking up with new friends is a perfect way to do that!   Hopefully it will become tradition that Monday is dedicated to a Weekend Update. So without further ado, my Weekend, which should be noted includes Friday since I am off on Fridays.

Friday:

I hung out with my L's and did some laundry until it was time to take them to my parents for a sleepover. I took advantage of that time to get in a great run through my neighboring country roads. Josh and I picked up burgers from a local restaurant for dinner and they were so good.  I'm not sure if blackened burgers are the best night before a long run fuel but oh well, they tasted amazing.

Saturday:

I set my alarm to wake up early to get my long run done so I could go watch Debi and Jana's little girl's soccer games. Unfortunately, the roaring thunder made me hit snooze repeatedly. So I didn't end up getting to run until 2ish which was the dumbest thing ever. I kind of died 12 times out there in the heat and humidity. (More tomorrow). Because it was mine and Josh's anniversary, I got cleaned up and straightened my hair for the first time in forever!  (Did you just sing the Frozen song, because I did?!)

Its been a long time so I hadn't realized how long my hair has gotten!  The girls ended up spending the night at my in-laws so we could go for dinner to celebrate 9 years!  We ate at Abuelo's which is a favorite of ours. I stuffed myself with enchiladas and a sangria swirl, which allowed me to call it a night early since I had a before sunrise wake up call.

Sunday:

5 am comes really early these days, but I had a hot date with my girls Jana and Debi (and Jana's hubby Scott) as we carpooled to the 1st 5 miler of the Road Race Series our local run club puts on every year. The race started at 7 am which was still not early enough to beat the Memphis heat and humidity!  I'll give a real race recap soon!  We hit up the most amazing donut shop after the race and I was in heaven:

I didn't eat all of these.  I saved the 2 pink ones for Lexi and Lyla.  Just kidding, these were so filling, I could only eat one!

Apparently Jana was in heaven too:

Told you it was blog-worthy :)

I took a killer nap when I got home while waiting for the girls to come home.

We took a family trip to Target to make sure we had everything for the girls first week of school!  All of a sudden the girls are picky eaters and are not being helpful in determining what they want to eat for lunch!  But they did score some sweet hats from Aunt Jana and Scott!

I know, I can't handle the cuteness either.

The pose.  I just don't know.

Oh Jana is now known as Aunt Jana, per her request :-) The rest of the night was spent prepping for KINDERGARTEN!!  I made snacks and lunches and obviously put cute notes in their bags. Before I knew it, it was time for me to hit the sack and watch an episode of Breaking Bad.

It was a pretty busy weekend, but it was also a great one!

how was your weekend?

what was the best thing you ate this weekend?  For me it was that amazing glazed donut!
