I might be a member of The Oiselle Flock, but I've been wearing Oiselle (pronounced Wa-Zelle) for several years now. Oiselle is a company with a mission I believe in, and running clothes that help me believe in myself. Oiselle Wednesday is a day for reviewing my favorite running fashions and showing you the fit on a 5'7, 130 pound Mommy-body!
It's been a while since I've discussed my favorite running clothes ever, so let's bring it back with an original: The Distance Shorts. See those orange shorts up there? Those were the second pair of shorts I ever bought from the big O (the first pair were a style that aren't made any more and I can't even remember the name). I immediately fell in love with the roominess and POCKETS!
Pockets in running shorts are kind of like cup holders in a car: you can never have too many of them. And the Distance Shorts deliver with 3 pockets, 2 of which have zippers! The third pocket is one of the internal pockets that most running shorts have, perfect for your key!
I don't know if these pictures really do them justice, but the material is so smooth. These shorts honestly feel like pajama shorts because they are so comfortable. I've never had any chafing problems with them because of the unique design where they are longer in the inner thigh and then rise toward the outer thigh to show some sexy runner leg. Because of this feature, they are perfect for those of you with beautiful, strong thigh muscles!
Due to the comfort level of the Distance Shorts, you can wear them for all race lengths. From a 5k to an ultra, these shorts go the distance (I just punched myself for you). They come in so many colors and you can easily top them with any of Oiselle's running tops.
One last attractive feature of the Distance Shorts is the price. At $44 it's hard to justify NOT filling your running drawer(s) with a few different colors. I also have the black ones that are basically the little black dress of the running world.
Finally, here they are in action during my first leg of Ragnar TN. That ridiculous smile on my face has nothing to do with Run Love...it's all about the Distance Shorts!
