Smell Your Shoes

No really, smell your running shoes.  I'm guessing they smell like a cross between a garbage truck and a towel that was left in the washer for 3 days.  Well, that's what mine smelled like.  Until Monica from Rocket Pure contacted me to review some of their products, including the Cedarwood Foot and Shoe Powder.  I've been using these products for some time now, and I'm ready to tell YOU all about them!

I used to not really care about what I was putting in or ON my body.  I didn't think twice about hitting up the drive thru, and I certainly never worried about what chemicals my skin care products contained.  Then I had kids, and all of that changed.  I'm not saying I'm all organic all the time, nor am I completely green, but I do have a greater awareness of the crap all around us in the environment.  That's why I am happy to tell you about Rocket Pure,  a natural body care company that specializes in skin care for athletes.  There are no toxins or chemicals in their products, including parabens, dyes, and synthetic fragrances.  Plus, the products are made by athletes, meaning they understand what we are looking for!

The Cedarwood Foot and Shoe Powder is a deodorizing powder that you can sprinkle on your feet or in your shoes.  It is scented with essential oils of cedarwood and rosemary so it smells amazingly fresh.  Not only does it smell fresh, but it feels fresh on your feet! I sprinkle a little bit in my shoes after super sweaty runs to keep my shoes smelling clean.  I also sprinkled some on my feet before rainy runs in order to help absorb moisture and prevent blisters!

As you can see by the ingredients list, the sunscreen lip balm is a super pure means of preventing sunburn on your lips.  It's easy to forget that our lips are vulnerable to sunburn, but this lip balm makes it easy to protect them! I also found it useful as sunscreen for the back of my ears which tend to burn. The lip balm does not contain any irritating fragrances and it is super moisturizing while protecting your lips!

The  Anti-Chafe Balm Stick has become my go-to product for preventing chafing during my sweaty runs.  I'm not a huge chafer, but I do sometimes get some marks where my arms rub my shirt when I run.  I simply apply the balm on my arms like deodorant before I run and I have had ZERO chafing this summer.  Here's one other cool thing I've notice about this balm: Something in it seems to repel bugs.  I contacted Monica about this, and she didn't know of anything, but I swear it seems to keep the obnoxious tiny bugs that cluster off of me!  There are a lot of natural oils and extracts in this product, so something must be doing the trick.

Being a health care professional, I am aware that sunscreen has gotten a lot of bad press lately.  There are a lot of chemicals in many of the products, some of them "potentially" causing cancer.  While I don't know enough to discuss that, I do know that Rocket Pure's SPF 30 Sunscreen does not contain those chemicals.  It is a broad spectrum sunscreen containing zinc oxide as a barrier to UV rays.  I've been applying this sunscreen daily to my girls before they go swimming, and I am so pleased with it.  They have not had any redness, and they actually claimed this was their favorite sunscreen EVER! That's huge for 6 year olds!

Now here's the good news! I have a coupon code you can use to get 10% off one product, or 15% off of 2 products! I don't get anything out of you purchasing something, but I highly recommend you give Rocket Pure a try! Just click on that link and you will be taken to a page to sign up to receive your coupon.
