Oiselle Wednesday: Mac Rogas

I might be a member of  the Oiselle Volée Team, but I've been wearing Oiselle (pronounced Wa-Zelle) for several years now. Oiselle is a company with a mission I believe in, and running clothes that help me believe in myself. Oiselle Wednesday is a day for reviewing my favorite running fashions and showing you the fit on a 5'7, 130 pound Mommy-body!

It's been a while since I've done a Oiselle Wednesday post, mainly because I need to purchase some of the Fall stuff to review. But then there's that whole money thing, so I'm having to be a little frugal when it comes to the spending. If a sale hits, watch out! However, a very sweet blog reader, Nicole, sent me a message asking about the Mac Rogas, and I figured a review would be a great way to help her figure out sizing! Plus, she said I'm one of her favorite bloggers and so basically I'm naming my next dog Nicole (sorry Nicole, I'm not having any more kids so a dog will have to do).

The Mac Rogas are the shortest in the amazing Roga family, and you can check out my review of the regular Rogas for length comparisons. Because I'm not a fan of longer shorts, I've never tried the long Rogas, but I know plenty of runners LOVE them too.

So what's the deal with these itty bitty shorts?  They are everything you love in the regular Rogas, but just a little less.  As in 2.25 inches less. The Macs have a 1.75 inch inseam while the Rogas come in at 4 inches. The Macs were named after the famous Oiselle_Mac (Sarah), a long legged beauty who wanted a shorter short. While I will NEVER have legs like Mac's, I can still wear her shorts, and so can YOU!

Clearly I am not rocking a "thigh gap", but I have no issues with chafing in the shorter Macs. They seem to hit at just the right length on me to provide me with a freeing experience while running. I find them to be just as comfortable as my beloved Rogas, but just a little more room for my legs to fly. When I got my first pair, I found myself to be very self conscious in them. I wasn't sure if my butt was hanging out or not.

As you can see, my butt was not hanging out. In fact, I found myself loving the shorter length while running hill repeats and doing speed work. I've since added 2 more pairs of Macs to my arsenal, so obviously I got over my self consciousness.

There's really no difference in the material, waistband, or pockets between the Macs and regular Rogas so I'm not going to waste your time going over that info again. I'll defer you back to my Roga review for that! The good news is, the Macs retail for $46 which can't be beat. These shorts literally last forever, and they come in beautiful colors, especially the new Violet color.

As far as sizing, I wear the same size in the Macs that I do in my regular rogas, an 8. Just to remind you, this is sizing up in what I wear in other Oiselle bottoms. I prefer my rogas to be looser and I find sizing up is the perfect fit for me!

Nicole, I hope this provided you with the info you were looking for! Oiselle can do no wrong by me, although I'm sure a day will come when I'm not totally in love with a piece. However, the Macs are perfect in my opinion, and I think anyone can wear them!
