The Sunday GYST XIX

Have you ever read a blog that makes you feel crappy about yourself?  Well, this isn't that type of blog. I've never hid the fact that I'm unorganized or that I struggle with untimely laziness. If you have the same affliction, you've come to the right place, because Sunday's are now all about the GYST:

Halla-lu-yur, we made it through another week! It's kind of a bittersweet thing when you think about it. We survived the week, yet it's a week we'll never get to experience again. Deep thoughts, right? I'm going to choose to be thankful I made it, because let's face it...life is tough sometimes! Overall, I'd say it was a successful week around here. I did an awesome job keeping things caught up, I made dinner a few nights, and I had some fabulous runs. We've been passing a cold around the family, and it's a crapshoot as to who will wake up with it on any given morning. I'm hoping this week will see it finally exit the premises completely, especially since I have a race this weekend!

Yep, the trip to the post office is still on my to-do list for this week. To be fair, I ended up going in to work for a bit last Tuesday, so my plans got messed up. I'm determined to get it done this week! I also put off making some doctor's appointments so I really need to get that done as well. Oh, I just thought about this too...I really want to get my hairs done! I've been fighting my grays and they are in need of some professional assistance. I'm really happy with where I am as far as laundry and dishes. I'm now able to do just a little bit every day or every other day to keep things caught up! I'm learning, yall!

Meal Plan:

I did really good with the whole cooking thing last week, and I'm excited to continue this week. I'm not trying anything new, mainly because I haven't found anything new to make! It's been a while since I've made falafel, but it's one of my favorite foods, and I'm excited to bring it back. Hopefully the chick peas will play nicely with my GI system! I also have some carbs to eat later in the week to prepare for my half. Okay, I eat carbs all the time, so I'm not sure what the point is in putting it into my plan. Carry on...

Work Out:

I'll be taking it fairly easy this week to give my legs some rest before my race. I'm so excited for my first race of 2016, even though goals have been adjusted. I'll also be spending some time with Jasyoga, as usual, to keep my body and mind balanced. I'm feeling eager to do some strength work as well, just because it's been so long since my body has felt healthy!

After last week back GYSTing, I realize how much I need this weekly focus to get ready for the week ahead. I feel like I was so much more productive at home and at work, simply by laying it all out there!

Do you take some time out to prepare for the week ahead?

What was the best part about your weekend?

  • The sushi I ate Saturday night. That was definitely the best part of my weekend!
