I Couldn't Help Myself

After our big 10 mile run, I found myself still on a runner's high, and had this conversation with Brooke:

Me:  I think we should run the full St. Jude Marathon next year.
Brooke:  I think you think too much.
Me:  Yeah you're probably right.
Brooke:  How about we get through the half this year and then work on speed.

So that's what I've been planning.  Complete the St. Jude Half on December 1st, then start trying to get faster.

But for some reason, my last 3 runs of 3 miles, I've pushed it.  Maybe it's my new shoes:

I know it's by no means fast, but it's an improvement for me!  I'm excited to feel my legs carry me forward.  I'm excited to know that I have it in me.  My hip has been doing so much better and I think I will keep improving as it keeps healing.

I'm starting to think about my goals for 2013 an I really want to run a sub 30 minute 5K.  Do I have what it takes?
