What's For Dinner #9, Say It Do It, and Sugar Detox

vegan menu

Happy Passover and Happy Easter!  I hope you all enjoyed time with your family today and this past week as you celebrated for various reasons :)

I didn't menu plan last week because we had Passover Seder on Monday and Tuesday.  We ate great meals both nights, but I applaud my parents on the "Clean" Seder we feasted on on Tuesday.  Everything was delicious, from the salmon appetizer to the roasted veggies and quinoa.  It was my kind of meal and I'm so thankful to have parents that make healthy food choices!

As always, I am linking up with Jill and Laura to bring you this weeks Eats:

Monday:  Roasted chicken and veggies with quinoa

Tuesday:  Cauliflower pizza and salad

Wednesday:  Crock Pot lasagna

Thursday:  Sausage and Kale with gnocchi

This is going to be a new Sunday addition to MommiesRun.  Jess @ FCITC is the mastermind behind Say It Do It (SIDI) and here is what she has to say about it:

{If you’re new to SIDI here’s some info: At the beginning of each week on FCITC “Say it, Do it” is a chance for us to commit to our workouts for the week by saying them out loud here and keeping each other accountable.}

My work outs have been less than stellar lately and so I am going to count on each of you to help hold me accountable!  I go back to Dr. Wonderful on Tuesday to hopefully get "released" from her care.  Meaning:  I can run as much as I want :)

So this is what I have planned (expecting that I'm good on Tuesday):

Monday:  Jillian Michaels 30 day shred in AM and 3 mi treadmill

Tuesday:  3 mi run and yoga

Wednesday:  3.5 mi run

Thursday:  Jillian Michaels 30 day shred

Friday:  4 mi run

Saturday:  5 mi run

Sunday:  Possibly a 5k if I can convince Josh to run it with me (please please please)

If you've been following me on The Twitter, you might have seen me tweeting about being "candy-free".  It is now 2 weeks since I've had candy!  This is huge for me.  I love candy, all kinds, but mainly Red Hots and Hot Tamales.  For some reason, it became a nightly ritual to have candy while catching up on TV, internet, or reading.  It was disgusting and it had to stop.

But then Laura has made me want to take it one step further.  For this week, I'm joining her on a sugar detox challenge and I will be cutting out all added sugar to my diet.  This means no candy, cookies, cupcakes, etc.  I opted for the easier challenge but if you want to get even stricter, you can cut out sugars and processed foods, like bread, energy bars, crackers, and flour.  Yikes.

What are you eating for dinner this week?

Say It, Do It with me!

What sugary item would be hardest for you to give up?
