My streak is still alive.
Today I almost called it quits. My IT band has been tight and I missed my long run today. To be fair, my marathon training has not begun yet, so it's not awful that I missed the long run. I was just disappointed. After a super crappy 5 miles yesterday, I started doubting myself and my ability to make it through this oppressing summer heat.
Luckily, I snapped out of it and got on the treadmill and knocked out a mile. It was just a mile, but it didn't hurt, and that was a win in my book.
Here's how my week shaped up in comparison to what I had planned.
Monday: 3 miles
Tuesday: 5x hill repeats plus core
Wednesday: 1 mile speed (8:57)
Thursday: 1 mile treadmill
Friday: 35 minute tempo (prescribed tempo speed is 9:59-10:10, I did 9:37 for 15 min) + 20 minutes yoga
Saturday: 5 miles
Sunday: 1 mile + fitness test
I ended up at about 17 miles for the week. Not where I wanted to be, but it'll do. I missed out on some of my strength sessions, but I did get some core work and yoga in.
Before I can tell y'all about my planned workouts for this week, I have to tell y'all that I'm going to Bootcamp! I've been following Tina's blog since before I was a blogger. She is such an inspirational woman and has always seemed so down to earth. I'm super excited to join her through a session of her Best Body Bootcamp. I'm pretty sure that you can still sign up if you want. Go Here to join in the fun!
Now I'm about to show y'all something that I've never shown you before.
This is me. I'm a work in progress, as most of us are. I've got plenty of room for improvement. In all honesty, when I look at this picture, I'm not ashamed. My stomach shows signs of abs from days gone by (pre twins of course). My legs carry me miles upon miles. My arms have slimmed down in the past few weeks. But while I'm not ashamed of this picture, I won't run outside like this. And that is my ultimate goal, as shallow as it may seem. I want to feel comfortable enough with my body that I will run outside with only a sports bra on (and shorts of course). I don't have a specific weight or measurement I want to reach. I just want to be confident in my body.
Tonight I did my pre-bootcamp fitness test. Of all of the exercises, I would like to improve my plank to 1:30 minutes and I would like to get my mile down to 8:00 minutes.
Like I said, I don't really have a weight goal. For the sake of progress though, I'm going to say I want to get down to 130. 130 should be doable for me as that is more of my normal weight. I'm still working off some weight I put on during the stress fracture.
So here's what is on tap for this week:
Monday: 3 miles + Workout A
Tuesday: 5 miles
Wednesday: 5x hill repeats + Workout B
Thursday: 1 mile speed
Friday: 3 miles + Workout C
Saturday: 3 miles
Sunday: 7-8 miles
Are you going to Bootcamp?
Let's cheer each other on!!!
