Weekly Workout Wrapup

I'm a little late with LAST week's wrap up but I still wanted to get it up here. My running went great but I'm sad to admit my Best Body Bootcamp workouts got skipped. No excuses, I just didn't do them.  Well, I attempted Workout A but Belle required some attention and I didn't get to finish it.  The good news is, it's a new week and I'll work harder this week.

So here is what I did achieve last week:

Monday:  3.65 miles to honor the one year anniversary of my running group, RUN365.
Tuesday:  4 x 400 with 800 warm up with Allison.

For the record, Allison is 12 years younger than me and a collegiate soccer and tennis player.
Wednesday:  3 easy miles
Thursday:  5 miles and an end to #RWRunStreak!

Friday:  Nothing.  Wow, that was weird.
Saturday:  Set out for a 40 minute tempo run, ended up just running 2 miles.  Fail.
Sunday:  7.5 mile long run.  Meant to do 8 miles but my out and back ran short and I didn't feel like doubling back for half a mile.

Now, what do I have planned for this week?  Here's what I originally planned:

But honestly, I feel like I need to give my legs a little break, specifically my left leg.  My IT band had been a little tight during the streak and although it feels better, I still get some pain sometimes.  Also, my inner thigh on that leg bothers me at times to.  And for the sake of blog honesty, I have felt a few twinges in my right foot, the stress fracture foot.

Therefore, I'm listening to my body and I'm going to take it easy this week.  I plan to focus on my Bootcamp workouts and run if my body says too.  Notice I said my body, not my head or heart.  My head or heart tells me to run everyday.

My marathon training starts in less than a month and I want to do this injury free.  As much as I want to go into training in tip top shape, I don't want to risk anything.  I ran one half marathon on a stress fracture and I have no intention on repeating that.

Now excuse me, I have a spaghetti squash to go shred!

have a fabulous week!
