Weekly Workout Wrapup: Marathon Training Week 7

I'm posting my wrapup now, but I'm hoping to squeeze a few more miles in before this night ends!  I started a run on the ole 'mill, but 2 four year olds demanded my attention so I put Pretty Little Liars on hold.  By the way, this show really sucks you in.  I highly recommend it if you've got some time to spend on the treadmill!


I didn't get in quite the miles that I had hoped for the week, but I feel like all of my runs were good runs.  I'm feeling really good about this week, and confident about the weeks to come.  In case you missed last week's wrapup, my long run this week was a PDR!  14 miles!  It all came together perfectly for Debi and I, and I was really happy with the way I ran.  The best part...Debi totally understood what a big deal it was for me.  She even had a special gift waiting for me for after the run, an orange and white chevron head band.  Seriously.  I couldn't ask for a better friend and running partner.  And guess what?  I get to set another PDR this week as we tackle 15 miles.  

So here's how the week ended up:

Monday:  30 minutes hill climb on elliptical plus this plank workout.  I'm slowly improving my plank time!


Tuesday:  4 mile tempo run.  I was so happy with this run.  It felt really great and I have to say, the Mizuno Wave Enigma 3's are really growing on me.  


Wednesday:  Unscheduled Rest Day

Thursday:  Rest

Friday:  4 miles treadmill.  Nothing spectacular.  Just an easy run.

Saturday:  14 miles!  After a day of continuous rain on Friday, we lucked out with amazing weather.  We were going to run with the St. Jude Heroes, but at the last minute decided to do our own thing.  I'm so glad we did!  


Sunday:  3 miles on treadmill, hopefully to be continued with 4 more!

And here's my plan for this week.  I'm still sticking to my plan of 5 runs, with the ability to drop one run if I feel like it!

Do you ever split up runs?
I try not to, but sometimes I need to split up treadmill runs because they bore me.  

How many pairs of running shoes do you rotate through?
I'm currently rotating through 4 pairs of Mizuno:  Wave Creation, Wave Rider, Wave Enigma, and Wave Enigma.  Maybe overkill, but maybe why my body feels the best it ever has????
