Permission to Rest and Lady Bugs

Marathon training is in full effect and the miles are piling on.  Unfortunately, so are the aches.  I've got some soreness (?) behind my right knee that I've been feeling since around last Tuesday.  There's no swelling and I can't pin point a specific point of injury, so I'm going to keep on keeping on.  It didn't stop me from shaving SEVEN minutes off my time in a tough 10 mile race yesterday, so I really think I'm okay.  However, I'm still going to take today off and resume the running tomorrow.

Now that that's out of the way, I want to introduce a trial of a new format for MommiesRun.  I don't know about you, but I find I eat SO much better when I'm showing y'all what I'm eating.  Like I have something to prove.  I think I eat okay for the most part, following this cool chick's 80/20 plan, but I like owning up to the fact that I'm not perfect.

Nobody is Perfect.

So for this week, I'm going to attempt to show y'all my daily eats, as well as discussing all the various other things that occur in my life.  You can let me know what you think.  Just don't make fun of my family or friends and we're cool.

Everyone knows this Mommy loves her some coffee, and I am happy to report that Sonic actually has a darn good coffee.  Cheap and tasty.  I had some of that recalled Chobani, so I have a bunch of free cups coming my way!  I'm so obsessed with the Key Lime and it's especially tasty with Belvita crumbled in it. I had a banana mid-morning to tide me over until lunch.  On Mondays at work we have a department head meeting where we get lunch.  Today was salad and fried chicken, so I just stuck with a big plate of salad with olive oil and vinegar.  When I got back to the pharmacy I had an apple.  We were out of plates so I didn't put any peanut butter on it.  Random.

I had some Simple Truth (Kroger's organic label) cereal (kind of like Kashi Go Lean Crunch) and some hummus and pita chips for an afternoon snack.  So when y'all buy hummus with the topping in the middle, do y'all stir it in or not?  Tough decision there.  I stir.  I digress.  When I got home from work I had myself a Red Bull because I'm hard core like that.  Not even a tad bit embarassed, because they do the trick.  For dinner I made these sliders and some red potatoes.  Clearly, this is not the healthiest dinner ever, but it's delicious and moderation is key!

In other news, I had some fun mail waiting for me when I got home from work:

It's like a Runner's dream come true!  Of course I had to try on the arm sleeves like STAT, because I'm cool.

It's pretty safe to say that I'm going to be looking super legit in my next race.  Thank you Oiselle for making rad gear.

Keeping it real,

I tackled that mess after dinner and I'm proud to say I made my most hated chore my bitch.  Boom.

And now...for the cutest shoes ever for my little lady bug:

I hope y'all made Monday your bitch.  I hope you're not offended I said "bitch".  Because I'm keeping it real.  And I say "bitch".

QOTD:  Do you stir the topping into the hummus?
