Today will be my 24th day of my #HeroesRun365 Running Streak.
Just to recap, I'm running at least a mile a day for 365 days to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Remember, patients of St. Jude never pay a penny for the treatment they receive. Therefore, it is so important for the hospital to receive donations to save these kids lives. This Streak would obviously be a huge personal accomplishment, but it's not about me. It's about raising money for life saving treatment for the children at St. Jude.
While my mileage hasn't been huge this month (55 miles so far), I can say that I've really enjoyed keeping up with the Streak. I keep reminding myself that I am technically in Taper Mode for the Rock N Roll New Orleans Marathon so it's okay to have more than a few one mile days per week for now. I really want to rev up the mileage after the marathon though, because the more I run, the more I raise for St. Jude!
Streaking has become a family affair around the MommiesRun house, as you've probably noticed if you follow me on Instagram. On the days where I can only fit in a mile, I've been taking to the treadmill after bathtime. Lexi and Lyla love hanging out with me while I run. We listen to Katy Perry and the Frozen soundtrack. We even had to buy them their own "workout clothes"!
I've also been having fun rotating around my Mizuno collection. Some of my RUN365 friends had commented that if I don't post a picture of my shoes, I must not have really run. Obviously I know they are joking, but I just can't help it! Have you SEEN how beautiful my Mizunos are???? I'm also working on a post detailing why I need all.the.mizunos.
I love that running is a daily part of my life. Even if it's a short run, it's so nice knowing that I have that time to move my legs. My lungs open and my mind clears. I feel at peace and ready for whatever is coming my way...including 342 more running days!
